Jack Wasserbach (1947-2021) was one that lived his life as he did his smile. In all the years I knew Jack, I never saw him without his great smile, and his can do attitude. In addition to being a great photographer, Jack was the Director of the ImageMakers of Monterey and a longtime member of the Center for Photographic Art in Carmel.
Jack was introduced to photography through a friend while serving in the Vietnam war. He received a BFA from the Art Institute of Boston and the California College of Arts.
We recently acquired a wonderful collection of Jack's photography. Nudes, cityscapes, and landscapes, all done to perfection. Jack's camera of choice was the Hasselbald and many of his images are printed in the square format.
More of his work can be seen on his website and his photography has been collected by the Museum of Modern Art, NYC, The Center of Creative Photography, Arizona, and the Corcoran, Washington, DC.
